It's hard to imagine a kitchen with no faucet, a bathroom with no shower, and farming in the desert without a source of irrigation. But that is what our friends in Goubawa and Inuwa are facing. You can help us bring clean water for drinking and crop irrigation to these two villages in the West African Sahel.
The average West African subsistence farmer is out of food TODAY!
Without a well these families can only grow one crop per year.
The rainy season ends each September.
Food supplies last 4-6 months.
The children are hungry every year from February to August.
Their parents are working on a new way forward.
Will you help to fund a permanent water source for dry season planting?
What started as a Master's Degree paper on water resiliency needs in two small Niger villages has grown into a grassroot effort to turn that paper into reality and change the lives of nearly 3000 villagers in Goubawa and Inuwa. The Resilient Water Project will not only provide solar-powered water wells and storage for drinking and crop irrigation but will also empower these villagers to cultivate and grow their own crops during an ever-increasing drought period known as "The Starving Time." During the Starving TIme children grow thinner, clean water is a scarcity, and daily food consumption is reduced to a few hundred calories.
Your gift is providing villagers with a way to defeat food scarcity through their own work.
Thank you for joining us!
